Dawn/DON - Rogue/Paladin

Post  DM on Wed Apr 20, 2011 12:31 pm

Dawn or DON (Double or Nothing).

Was a street rogue, stealing to stay alive ... as part of a dare she attempted to "borrow" the Symbol of Solit from the local church.

During the attempt, well lets just say that the Church need a hero, and she, literally fell into their laps. And yes Solit doth provide.

Translation: Rogue/Paladin ...

Didn't see Improvised Weapons on character sheet.

You might want to consider separating weapons into two categories ... those that require finesse and those that are a bit more direct.

Improvised weapons are covered - use Dex - Armed Combat - Swing or Thrust as the way you would use any weapon. The nature of the weapon will determine how effective it is.

My thought on direct vs finesse is that you can either use dexterity to hit really well, adding to damage, or hit ok, but pit a lot of strength behind the blows. It's why hitting is based on Dex and damage is based off Str.

Am I reading your concern correctly? I am always open to ideas. What situations do you have in mind?

Weapons

You are in the right ballpark for what I was asking ...

So damage is always Strength Based?

So somebody with an Agility of 10 and Strength of 1, would take hours to hurt someone?

No. Someone with a high Dex and low strength will be hitting someone BETTER. So, everything in excess of basic hitting is added to the damage roll. So, if you need a 6 to hit something, but roll a 13, 7 is added to the damage roll.

And by the way I like the character concept. Heck, I build a deity around the idea! Smile

I corrected your sheet a bit. You put some scores into the XP column, which will track experience points, so I moved them left. Also, you had some specializations without the requisite skill, so in these cases I put the points you had there into the skill above them. You'll see what I mean, I think.

Aside from that, it's a complete character!

I did that so I could sum them ... and make sure I don't over spend ... ;o)
