Cleric/Priest - these are the appointed ones who follow religion rules
Cleric/Called - these are the ones that have developed actual powers and skills
may or may not be affiliated with the "church".
Merchants - Skilled in building, designing, faberication (forge/weave)
Military - combat trained to fight wilderness attacks. more are armed with real weapons
Semi-Military - combat trained but in lower income, may have some weapons and armor, ro more unarmed skilled.
Farmers - stock herds and soil till they have keep the others alive with their skills and are NOT looked down apon as they once were.
Herb Lore - Druids/Shamans/Bard all had skills in healing if from herbs, songs to lift spirits or spells to cast doubt and fear away.
Laborer - backbone of any city these are the ones that follow the lead and build the walls they others have planned
Legal - wise ones that still hold sway with their knowledge and ability to settle disputes. Although some disputes are still settled with whatever weapon is handy at the time. In this is the reason for the forming of Servin United Kings, to hopefully stop the interwars that were raging after the first destructions took place and all strugling for food and water.

Those in charge

Post  steven_h_d on Mon Oct 04, 2010 2:53 pm

In most town is was the military or semi-military that took charge.
A few towns without military installed brought up their own arms and quickly settled
upon a leader among themselves. A hardy farmer, respected by the others. A merchant with a sence of Order that quickly organized the setup of temp shelters and pulled the town back together. At 85+ years the leaders in some cases have been replaced by more legalist administrators. But many fear that is what caused the fire sky to fall, and refuse to follow such leaders. Cleric too have attempted to regain stature with thier position, but in the early times all too often they too were blamed. Those that could not actually provide healing and purify water were soon dismissed. A newer breed of cleric have emerged and those of the old regime cast pushed aside. orc tribes and worse have been seen, no longer to the barriar mountians bar them access to the lands. Old forts are being rebuilt, aggreements with other town formed in case of outside attack, they can call on each other for arms.
Elves too in some cases will answer the call. Their leaders remain from old, but the wind is changing as younger elves have seen the error (so they say) of the last age. Wanting a return to the deities that used to protect the land. The " green movement" is on the uprise to cleanse the land of advancements.
Drow, dwarven, and others driven by changes deep underground have moved to the surface, or towards the new mountains to find thier fate. Some report volcanic activitiy there and so have mingled amongst the town. In some cases started a new town near their old enimies and have draw up a truce. how long it last is anyones guess. Drow live in Ashin, near the rangers of Ash. Both watch each other as well as the invaders of the forset.
